Talk to us.

Sometimes we produce a project from end to end, and in other projects, we produce a part of it. When we’re working on these ‘parts’, there’s always discussion about what we’re doing and how it will look when the whole project is put together.

Will anyone ever see what we did?

What will the audience be like?

In the case of I Am Mother, soon to be released by Netflixdirected by Grant Sputore and made at the South Australian Film Corporation Adelaide Studios (where we spend our working days)  – Yes, and just about everyone on the planet!

The trailer of the film has just landed on YouTube. In the first few days, it’s had over 600,000 views!

Here’s the plot:

A sci-fi thriller about a teenage girl (Clara Rugaard), who is the first of a new generation of humans to be raised by Mother (Rose Byrne), a robot designed to repopulate the earth after the extinction of humankind. But the pair’s unique relationship is threatened when an injured stranger (Hilary Swank) arrives with news that calls into question everything Daughter has been told about the outside world and her Mother’s intentions.

Get excited! From what we’ve read on the web, it’s due for streaming release on the 9th June in the US and is coming to Australian cinemas 18th July 2019.

Monkeystack produced all of the on set practical screen content. On over 15 various screens we crafted animated sequences for the interactive door panels and touchscreens, boot up sequences and all of the screens on the robot ‘Mother’ that Weta Workshop created. Check out the trailer below:
