As part of the Australian War Memorial’s redevelopment, Monkeystack partnered with the Memorial’s exhibition and curatorial teams to develop an interactive experience for the Afghanistan Gallery. The project focused on communicating a highly specialised military process to a broad public audience in a way that was both engaging and accessible.
Given the complexity of the subject matter and the sensitivity of the stories being told, extensive collaboration with curators and subject matter experts was essential. Through thoughtful UX design and narrative structuring, the experience helps visitors better understand the operational realities of contemporary conflict.
Intel Led Operations
Intel Led Operations is an interactive experience that guides visitors through the process of intelligence gathering, analysis and operational decision-making used during the Afghanistan conflict. Through a step-by-step narrative, visitors explore how information from multiple sources is collected, assessed and transformed into operational actions.
Working closely with the Australian War Memorial team, Monkeystack developed an experience that explains a highly complex intelligence cycle without overwhelming visitors. By breaking the process into clear stages and focusing on the connections between disparate information sources, the experience creates a more accessible understanding of how intelligence informed Special Forces operations while maintaining the integrity of the subject matter.
