IWS (Integrated Waste Services) wanted to reimagine their entry space with an engaging experience that invites school groups, clients and partners to gain a deeper understanding of what really happens to waste beyond the bin.
Working with IWS and NAWMA (Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority), we developed a hands-on educational experience combining interactive content and multimedia elements. The experience follows the journey of three common household waste streams: the red, yellow and green bins, as they move through various waste management facilities across South Australia.
Visitors can choose between two modes of engagement: a gamified experience that challenges users to make the right decisions to keep the waste journey running smoothly, or a more exploratory mode that allows for passive discovery. This exploration is enriched with embedded multimedia content, including video and text, presented within animated environments.
